OUR TEACHERS
Our team includes experienced French teachers and tutors, with qualifications including QTS and TEFL. All our teachers and tutors hold enhanced DBS checks and are covered by appropriate insurance.
Some of our teachers are native French speakers, while others have spent time studying, living, working or travelling in France.
We are all passionate about introducing children to French language and culture from a young age. Seeing children having so much fun while developing their confidence and learning French is incredibly rewarding.

WHAT IS FUN FRENCH FOR KIDS?
Through puppets, songs, games, signing, craft, drama and books the children effortlessly learn French and have FUN!
Fun French for Kids sessions are designed to develop positive attitudes to language learning and other cultures, in a happy relaxed and supportive environment. The material and activities are tailored to different age groups, encouraging participation, confidence and a love of learning. All sessions are structured, interactive and fun, aiming to inspire children's curiosity about different languages and cultures.
HARBOROUGH LANGUAGES has been providing French language classes, clubs and private tutoring since 2009 in nurseries, pre-schools, schools and community groups throughout Leicestershire, Northamptonshire, Rutland and Warwickshire.
WHY LEARN FRENCH AT A YOUNG AGE?
Learning a new language is a natural and enjoyable process for young children. Introducing children to foreign languages from an early age can help develop their confidence, curiosity and enthusiasm for language learning. The sooner children become familiar with another language, the more opportunities they have to enjoy and explore it!
Learning a foreign language has been a compulsory part of the national curriculum in English primary schools since September 2014, starting in Year 3 (age 7). In fact, 70% of primary schools surveyed in 2025 taught French, making it the most widely taught foreign language at primary level. What better way to give your child a head start and build a strong foundation for school?
French is a truly international language, spoken by approximately 396 million people across five continents. It is also the world’s second most widely taught foreign language after English. Being able to speak even a little French provides many benefits, including:
- opportunities for overseas travel, study and work experiences.
- making it easier to approach learning other languages.
- promoting cross-cultural understanding.
- laying the foundations for becoming a global citizen.
- developing communication and listening skills.
- encouraging curiosity, creativity and a love of learning.
Above all, learning French should be fun! Learning alongside other children of a similar age provides an enjoyable and motivating environment where children can learn through songs, games and play, building confidence and friendships along the way.
